Musings from My Time with God

If I had only one thing I could do all day, I would choose to fellowship with God. This desire drives what I write. Drives me to write. And when I’m not writing, I’m listening and watching, and wondering if I could also share what I hear and see and experience with others.

(And I’d be doing a little happy dance if I knew—probably in the field with the cows, maybe in my kitchen, but most likely where I’m alone, ‘cause I’m a little shy).

Joab’s Fire

A Distant Hope

Joab and Sarah Black overcame the worst of pioneer hardships, but those challenges never prepared them for the tragedy they now faced—a staggering loss and intense pain cause them to doubt everything they had ever believed. In the midst of their sorrow, even their closest friends interpret their suffering as a result of God’s judgment. Has God abandoned them?

Seargent Dixon, the local North West Mounted Police officer, investigates the events surrounding the Blacks’ plight. However, the activities of a certain stranger possibly connected to the case may cost him his job and even his life.

Will peace ever return to their small town?

Devotionals by the Book

I love studying God’s Word. I learn so much about Him and I love how He speaks with me when I have my quiet time with Him. In this section of my website, I share devotionals from each book of the Bible based on my quiet time with God.

Stories

Storytelling has so many virtues. It entertains, it teaches, it helps you escape, it introduces new ideas, etc. While I hope my stories entertain, my prayer is that they teach as well.

Extraordinary History

Have you ever wondered what happened to certain people groups that disappeared from history? Or maybe seemed to reappear centuries later?

Have you ever wished you could go back and talk to the ‘everyday rustic’ of past times? I love to seek out stories of people who don’t always make it into the school history books. These people were the conquered, or people too unimportant to society to know, or whose stories have been altered by the ruling class.

Why not join me and my fictional characters as we journey through history meeting people who can tell us how they lived, the stories of their lives, the depth of their courage and their faith

Memory Verses

Join me as I work on memorizing God’s Word. I am striving to improve not only my knowledge of the Bible but also my memory. Once I memorize a verse or passage of Scripture, I’ll add the next one. Why not see if you can memorize faster than I do?

My Writing Life

Here I share with you the ups and downs and maybe some of the things I learn as I write.

Quotes

I love a good quote. It can brighten your day, make you stop and think, and even change your outlook on life.
